Schramsberg Mirabelle Brut
|Region||California, North Coast|
This Mirabelle Brut has generous fruitful aromas of pear, tangerine and ripe peach,followed by nuances of vanilla and star anise. In the mouth, there are flavors of mandarin orange, stone fruit and yellow apple. The palate is crisp on entry with a citrus acidity and a lingering finish.
Delicately rich, with a hint of maturity, offering plush notes of roasted nut, Asian pear, cinnamon brioche and spice. Drink now.
The two best values from Schramsberg are their non-vintage Mirabelle cuvées. The NV Mirabelle Brut, 61% Pinot Noir and 39% Chardonnay, shows loads of tropical fruit, a touch of delicate pineapple, pear, apple skin and crisp, medium-bodied flavors.
Mirabelle is akin to Schramsberg's second label, but this brut is pretty good. Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it's rich and scoury with flavors of oranges, strawberries, limes and vanilla.
