This wine has a sticky grip to it, tannins that weigh around a huge concentration of cedar, clove and varietal cassis. The structure is impressive and lengthy, giving it a boost of complexity and power.

Brought up in 80% new French oak and including 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Benchlands sports a deep purple/ruby hue as well as lots of Cabernet black and blue fruits interwoven with spice box, chocolate, and tobacco notes. This ripe, sweetly fruited, plush effort is one of the more modern styled in the lineup and leads with its fruit. It's a big, opulent fruit bomb done beautifully. Drink it over the coming decade.

This loads up on steeped red and black currant fruit flavors, which are mixed with a slightly burly ganache edge that asserts itself steadily through the squared off finish. A muscle-bound wine. 1,300 cases made.
